AOC received 132,000 votes last election. How many is this in perspective? Well, there are around 10 million UBER drivers in America. Somehow she thinks it’s smart to video that people of color coming to that U.S. should be careful because America is a white supremacist, racist country. She has a tiny group of supporters who voted for change based on hateful rhetoric. A tiny, insignificant number.
Peacemakers encourage the people to base their feelings on commonalities. It’s how we all get along. Imagine what life would be like if we whites hated blacks like she says we do. Or immigrants from South of the border. There isn’t that much hate in the world but AOC wants us to think there is.
She can talk about running for President all she wants, but if she does she will run up against the truth. That truth is that Americans have compassion and hope and love for one another that surpasses or equals that of anywhere else in the world, and her tribalistic, divisional and polarizing rhetoric cannot generate significant hate between American groups where it does not exist.
Media, social and mainstream, make money if they can stir fear and hate. With medias help those activists amplify their voices. That’s what is different now than it was 30 years ago. We Americans are all in this together. We don’t tolerate hate well but we can’t fight hate with hate. I have known that if I set a healthy example that others will see the power and join me.
